What
is a "Bird/Jones Telescope"? |
![empty](/images/space.gif) |
A
Bird/Jones Newtonian Reflector is a modified Newtonian
with a spherical primary mirror. Before the light strikes
the flat after being reflected, it passes through a Barlow-like
achromatic lens that corrects the spherical aberration
of the primary mirror. The system is also corrected for
coma.

In
general, there are two kinds of telescope systems. One
is the Optical Telescope. This is our main manufacturing
base. The other is the radio telescope, which is used
for National & Scientific research . We manufacture
only a few of these. |
